BMUG is a membership-based non-profit organization dedicated to helping users of graphical interface computers. It represents the interests of Macintosh users in more than fifty countries and is expanding into other platforms, such as PC Windows and NeXT.
BMUG offers something for everyone. Here are a few of the reasons that more than 10,000 people have chosen to maintain membership in BMUG:
• The BMUG Newsletter — Published twice a year, each newsletter contains over 400 pages of reviews, tutorials, reference material and commentary (but no advertising!).
• The Help Line — Unlimited access to our technical support helpline is available during business hours by phone or in person.
• Hardware Assistance — Data recovery and installation of hardware, such as RAM is free to current members.
• The BBS — An 16 line electronic bulletin board. Use your modem to exchange messages with BMUG members around the world, send mail via other electronic services, and download software from BMUG's vast software library.
• The Software Library — One of the largest and most up-to-date collections of publicly distributable software anywhere. It is sold on diskette and CD ROM and can be downloaded from the BBS.
• The Meetings — BMUG holds weekly general meetings in Berkeley and special interest group meetings virtually every night of the week. See interesting product demos, meet other computer users and hear the latest industry rumors.
• The BMUG Memo- A twice a year publication that comes out in between the BMUG newsletter. It tends to be 32 pages and slightly less irreverent than the BMUG newsletter.
